The Story of Diwali
The festival of Diwali commemorates the return of Lord Rama to his kingdom, Ayodhya, after defeating the demon king Ravana. Lord Rama’s return after 14 years of exile brought joy and prosperity to the people of Ayodhya. To celebrate this occasion, the citizens illuminated the entire kingdom with diyas (oil lamps) and burst fireworks to mark the victory of good over evil.
Additionally, Diwali is associated with the worship of Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity. On this day, devotees clean and decorate their homes, inviting Lakshmi to bring abundance and happiness into their lives. The festival also signifies the beginning of the Hindu New Year, fostering a spirit of renewal and hope.
દિવાળીનો તહેવાર રાક્ષસ રાજા રાવણને હરાવીને ભગવાન રામના તેમના રાજ્ય અયોધ્યામાં પરત ફર્યાની યાદમાં ઉજવે છે. 14 વર્ષના વનવાસ પછી ભગવાન રામનું પરત ફરવું અયોધ્યાના લોકો માટે આનંદ અને સમૃદ્ધિ લઈને આવ્યું. આ અવસરની ઉજવણી કરવા માટે, નાગરિકોએ આખા રાજ્યને દિવાઓ (તેલના દીવો) સાથે પ્રકાશિત કર્યું અને ફટાકડા ફોડી, અંધકાર પર પ્રકાશની અને અનિષ્ટ પર સારાની જીતની નિશાની કરી.
